NALUKAI ACADEMY experience
Content Producer (2018, 2019, 2022)
In my role as a photographer and videographer for Nalukai Academy, a program for high school students in Hawai'i centered on social, cultural, and commercial entrepreneurship, I gained valuable experience capturing moments and visually documenting the academy's vibrant activities. I actively contributed to enhancing the academy's social media outreach by creating engaging visual content. This included showcasing unique experiences and highlights of the program, ultimately building a compelling online presence. Utilizing both photography and videography, I was able to tell a comprehensive and dynamic story, leading to increased engagement and interest in Nalukai Academy.
Team Leader (Summer 2022)
In 2022, I returned to Nalukai Academy as a Team Leader. On various occasions, I assumed the role of a project manager, aiding Founders by assisting my team in assigning roles and adhering to project timelines. Additionally, I conducted regular check-ins with individual participants, ensuring sustained engagement and acting as a liaison to the facilitator staff for any issues arising during the camp. As a team leader, I actively navigated the delicate equilibrium of being enthusiastic, involved, and engaging, while concurrently being attentive, supportive, and encouraging to curate a positive and enriching experience.
Founder + Commercial Co-Lead (2016)
I led the effort in creating Nalukai Academy's first commercial, a significant piece for the website's initial version. My responsibilities covered the entire creative process, from coming up with ideas to executing them. I worked with a creative team, including other Founders, to capture the essence of Nalukai Academy and ensure the commercial effectively showcased its unique offerings. The objective was to make a strong introduction on the website, using my leadership and creative skills to enhance the academy's online presence and outreach.
